Bravo Futures Renamed Imarex Italia

Oslo, 02 Oct 08

Imarex is pleased to announce that Bravo Futures S.r.l, the FFA (forward freight agreement) brokerage based in Genoa has officially changed its name to Imarex Italia S.r.l. from today. The company will continue to focus on dry and tanker freight derivatives, with a specific focus on the Mediterranean market.

Last November Imarex signed an option agreement with Bravo Tankers to purchase a majority stake in Bravo Futures – this option has now been exercised. Bravo Tankers and Genoa Sea Brokers will retain minority shares in Bravo Futures. A cooperation agreement has been in place between Bravo Futures and Imarex since last November, which has enabled Bravo Futures to facilitate screen-based transactions involving its customer base in the Mediterranean region.

The process of integrating Bravo Futures into Imarex has already started, and is expected to be completed by the end of October.

"Bravo Futures is a natural fit for Imarex – our cooperation agreement has already been successful and well-received by the market, and the formation of Imarex Italia will allow us to build on that success,” said Herman W. Michelet, CEO of Imarex. “Access to our electronic trading and clearing systems has added a new dimension to the FFA market in the Med and we are confident that the full integration of Bravo Futures will not only boost our liquidity in that region but across other regions too.”

Mr Adelfio Ronci, previously senior broker at Bravo Futures, has been appointed General Manager of Imarex Italia.

“It is extremely exciting for us to be part of Imarex – we are now part of not only the largest electronic trading and clearing platform for freight derivatives, but one which also has a fantastic reputation for customer service; it is great news for us and for our clients and we look forward to working to further expand and develop the Mediterranean FFA market,” he said. “Imarex Italia will, through its Joint Venture with Bravo Tankers and Genoa Sea Brokers, benefit from detailed underlying market information and well established business relationships with most Mediterranean based freight principals.”
